Viewings

Viewing is a great opportunity to inspect the vehicle and any associated history files prior to bidding. Our team of experts are also on hand to assist you during this and to answer any questions you may have.

For each Lot we provide a detailed description, extensive photographs, and video content where possible, in order for interested bidders to obtain as much information as possible. The history files which are supplied by the vendor, are available to inspect in person on the viewing days.

Register and bid

Bidding is available in person, by telephone, online, or via commission.

Bidding in the room means you can once again join us on the auction day to bid in person.

Telephone bidding allows you to bid live. On the auction day we will contact you prior to the Lot going through and guide you through the process.

Commission bidding is ideal if you are unavailable on the auction day. It is the maximum amount you are willing to bid up to and we will execute your bid as low as possible on your behalf.

Online bidding is now available directly on our website as well as with our partner, The Saleroom . Please note bidding online with our partners incurs an additional fee of 1% +VAT.

You can now bid live on our website (with no additional fees). For more details please head to our YouTube channel and watch how easy it is to register and bid.

To register a telephone or commission bid, please log in or create an account here.

You will need to complete the five steps when creating your account, including the upload of identification. Once you are logged into your account, you will then need to register to bid against the specific lot(s) of interest. To ensure your bid is processed, please submit this no later than two hours prior to the auction.

Alternatively, you can register to bid by contacting us directly: email bid@silverstoneauctions.com or call 01926 691141. To register to bid online, please register directly with our partners on their sites.

Interested bidders should register to bid at each individual auction and will be required to provide one form of photo identification every 12 months to comply with money laundering regulations (Driving licence or Passport). When you complete the registration process you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions.

Like the majority of classic car auctioneers, Silverstone Auctions charge what is known as a buyer's premium. Our buyer's premium charge for motor vehicles is 12.5% +VAT on the first £300,000 of the hammer price and 10% +VAT on the balance thereafter, 10% +VAT for number plates and 20% +VAT for automobilia and watches. Buyer's premium is subject to VAT at the prevailing rate on the day of the auction.

Some lots may also be subject to VAT on the hammer price. These items will be clearly marked in the lot description.
